TGDA is a not-for-profit trade association representing the federally licensed firearms dealers operating in Texas who maintain a storefront operation. The primary purpose of this state association is to represent its members before the Texas Legislature and state and federal regulatory agencies affecting the Texas firearms industry and gun owners.
The association is owned and operated by its membership and governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership. The TGDA offices and staff are located in Austin, a few blocks from the Capitol.
TGDA supports any action, legislation, regulation, or ordinance that would reduce or eliminate the unlawful sale of firearms in Texas, so long as the action does not infringe upon the right of federally licensed firearms dealers to lawfully sell firearms in Texas. TGDA also supports the lawful sale of firearms by federally licensed firearms dealers in the State of Texas, and opposes any action, legislation, regulation, or ordinance that would restrict the lawful sale of firearms in Texas.
